From
Barneveld, in the Netherlands to Virginia, this rare breed of chicken has made
its way into the American homestead. The most attractive feature about this breed,
is the double lacing in the hen's plumage. A mature cock displays a lustrous plumage
with iridescent shades of green, violet, and bronze. Barnevelders are a calm mid
size fowl with a lot to offer for the poultry fancier. This hardy fowl is great
for show, free range, and the production of eggs or meat. Our
Barnevelders like the majority here in the United States do not produce the dark
eggs as does their Dutch ancestors. We do find, however, our eggs to be a deep
warm copper brown. CornerStone Farm
is not a commercial poultry hatchery. We hatch quality over quantity. This practice
offers sales of select young and mature fowl. We do not ship day old birds,
however, birds less than 5 weeks to day old can be picked up at the farm.
