Sex link

Sex linked chicks allow us to determine a chick's sex at the time of hatch, simply by the color of down. The example above shows a darker pullet to the left, and a more 'frosty' appearing cockerel to the right. The photo of the pullet suggests slightly, the usual darker shanks and toes. These traits are typical as with the similar barred plumage variety found in other breeds as well.
