the outdoors enthusiast to our farm getaways to explore and
observe wildlife in its natural environment.
CornerStone Farm is in the heart of the Staunton
River Loop of the Virginia
Birding and Wildlife Trail. These packages are truly for
the outdoor enthusiast to take advantage of the nearby sites on
the loop; and to enjoy the diverse habitats throughout the farm.
On site, there are marked trails for horseback riding, hiking, birding,
and picnicking.

Our forest, fields and open sky come alive
during bird migration - perfect for all levels of birding.
We offer guided tours to explore the farm's
marked hiking trails through the diverse habitat of natural
wetland, meadow, field, and forest; where Wild Turkey and
Pileated Woodpecker are at home. Come experience Spring and
Fall migration as warblers flit through the treetops and hawks
dot the wide open sky.

Whether you are young or young-at-heart, fishing
is a relaxing pastime. Cast a line for largemouth bass,
crappies, catfish and more in our spring fed pond for early
morning or late afternoon fun. Then after dinner, enjoy the
warmth of a bonfire as it cuts through the evening chill while
sharing stories, marshmallows, and hot-dogs.
This trophy fish was a catch
and release from
the farm pond and is still in there.
For the more advanced anglers
who are coming to the area to fish the "Big Lakes" (Kerr,
Gaston, and Buggs Island), we have accommodations for
boats and trailers.
Our farm offers activities to family members
and friends who care to stay behind at the inn and enjoy the
farm's routine while you are out on the water.

This is a popular activity for many of our guests. Goat packing
provides a leisurely hike to favorite picnic locations on
the farm. Our pack goat "Aquila" loves to hike with
our guests while carrying everything needed for a family or
romantic picnic.

Our guests thoroughly
enjoy our horses and the guided trail rides past serene pastures
full of grazing livestock into our 40 acres of woodland bridle
trails.
Smell the fresh air mixed with scents
of wild flowers pine and the sound of chirping birds and the
squeak of leather. Horses are provided at the farm. If you
wish to bring your own horse, please inquire of the innkeepers.

After your ride, come back to the farmhouse, sit back and
relax on the wrap-around the porch and enjoy the pastoal scenery
