Dear Barb: I just wanted to write and thank you again for welcoming us into your beautiful home. You really have a lot of work to do there and you do an excellent job. We had the best time.. I am still sore from the horseback riding but would do it again. I loved all the animals... I am glad we took pictures... we will remember our stay there with fond memories and hope to be able to visit again. You yourself made the visit special. Take care of yourself. I hope you get some free time to yourself too. You deserve it. With kindest regards

Barb and Ward, Romans 5:17! What a joy it is to come and relax at this place that is"covered" by Him! Thank you, thank you, thank you for such hospitality, kindness and welcoming love. Until Next time may He keep you safe and in His abundant love and grace.

Sandi and Al -------------------------------------- Traveler Plus February 2008

Hello Barb and Ward, Thank you for the hospitality and great food you cooked up. Cierra, our granddaughter, and her friend Haley loved the unique experience of staying in your home as a farm bed and breakfast. There isn’t much one can do to compete with all the electronic gadgets that fill their lives but this did it. As for Becky, well what can I say. I think it was pretty obvious she would have gladly stayed in the barn. She missed her calling somewhere along the way. Dorval and I again thank you for being our host. If we get a chance to come again we will look you up.

Susan Pennington Price and Dorval & family Traveler Plus December 2007

Ward and Barb -

We just had the best time and Al and I talk about it so much. Thank you again and we hope to come back again some time.

Dear Ward & Barb,
1st let me tell you what a wonderful time we all had this past weekend on your farm! Thanks for opening up your home to us & teaching us so much. We are all excited about our future in goating & the girls were so excited when we shared our plans to get the does/kids of the goats they loved so much.

Christian &Tom, Cobbs Creek, VA, Mentorship October 2007

Hello dear friends in Christ, Our stay with you was a blessing to us at a time when we needed a peaceful retreat from the many busynesses with which we need to deal right now. We had such a beautiful stay with you and look forward to a return visit in God's time. Love in Christ,

Mary and Jim, Middleton, MA, Traveler Plus October 2007

Barb, Can't thank you enough for this wonderful stay. The animals speak for themselves(!), but it was also the hospitality and kindness that you both showed in sharing your home and some of your daily lives with us that was the true gift.

Nancy and Howard, Bethesda, MD, Traveler Plus October 2007

In life the Lord grants blessings and our stay here was truly a blessing to meet and share in your wonderful home. Karen and I thank you both very much. Everything was great from dinners to fishing in your pond and sitting with the goats. Our prayer is that God will continue to bless you both Barb and Ward in all that He has put in your care. Thank you for the blessings.

Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place. What a wonderful- peaceful - restful time - food was awesome. Christ is very evident in the lives of each of you - Psalm 127:1. Thank you for a wonderful birthday for Curtis.

Ward and Barb, this time of rest has been so peaceful and truly an answered prayer. I truly enjoyed the beautiful scenic views and seeing all your animals close up and for the first time in real life. You both are so accommodating and have made our vacation perfect. I needed the rest and the both of you were so kind to allow me the opportunity to rest without feeling guilty or pressured into doing anything. I enjoyed the fellowship with your friend Sue as well. Thank you for opening your home to me and allowing me to bring my Louie (dog).

Joshua and Shannon, Amelia, VA- Custom Special -September 2007

For Ruth, it was the comfort of your home (a home away from home!) and the delightful conversation with the both of you. For Ross, it was milking the goat, a little fishing, and regrets only not having the time for a walk and a horseback ride. For Kyle, it was loving your animals and your kindness to allow his help, and for Cindy - the great food that I didn't have to prepare, the beautiful view of the pond in the morning and the joy of having chosen on accommodation that pleased us all so much and gave us a special experience to share. We would love to return if the opportunity presents itself, and we truly felt God's love in sharing your home for a bit!

Cindy and Family, Media, PA- Traveler Plus -August 2007

We wish to thank you for the wonderful visit we had at Cornerstone. Even though it was so short, it was one of the highlights of our extended trip to PA and VA. WE appreciated the valuable information on goats and being able to observe and get in with the goats and Kita. You have a lovely home.

Jan and Wallace, Lake City FL, Traveler Plus 2007

Ward and Barb, Just wanted to tell you both what a wonderful, peaceful, & relaxing honeymoon we had at your farm. We couldn't have asked for a better trip. You are great hosts and your animals are excellent neighbors.

Darren and April, Lester, W VA, Honeymoon 2007

Dear Barb and Ward, Just a note to say hello and to tell you once again how fantastic our stay at CornerStone Farm was. Becky and I had a much needed opportunity to relax and enjoy a way of life far removed from what we have known for many months. Your hospitality was warm and inviting as your home and we hope to make a return visit in the Fall. Fondly,

Laura, Goode VA, Farmer 2007

Hi Barb and Ward, Well, this is the first moment I have had to get back to you. We had a wonderful time farming with all your babies. We have not stopped talking about all we did in such short a time and learned so much. I appreciate all the hands on opportunities that we all had. Also, the one on one for most of the day allowed me to focus on each task and lesson.

Thank you for the step by step approach. Brittany had a great time too and felt so at home that she could go out in the goat pen and play with the kids all by herself. She also liked being around the dogs. What the weekend at your home did for me is raise my confidence level. I came home believing I could handle goats, sheep and maybe some other livestock. They are the right temperament and personality. Now I need to transfer that to maintaining alpaca as well. Thus, more research is in order. Thank you again for offering this type of program for aspiring farmers and ranchers.

Lots of smiles, Darlene, Brittany and family Mentorship 2007

Barb and Ward, Everything was just wonderful on our trip. I wanted to thank you again for everything. We have since made another round of 30 minute mozzarella, and have started thinking about our started for another load of bread (we just finished the first two loafs!). We will certainly be coming back at some point in the future. Best of luck to you and the kids (is everyone out and safe yet?).

Thanks again, Miles and Holly Cheese and Bread Making 2007

Hi Ward and Barbara! I can't thank you enough for the wonderful time and hospitality shown to the children and myself this weekend. It was great to see everyone again and a time to make some more sweet memories as well as recall some from the past. The two of you were 'perpetual motion machines' in the running of the farm and hosting our visit. We can't thank you enough!

What a wonderful couple of days we spent enjoying nature at its finest and reconnecting as a busy family. Chloe and Jake thoroughly enjoyed their horseback riding experience with dad. Fishing and biking kept them well entertained, but the highlight was most definitely the twice daily chores and bonding with the goats, which they couldn't get enough of. Thank you Ward and Barb for not only sharing your home with us, but your family too. Mom Jane and niece Gavin were great company! A lovely time was had, we would love to visit again in the near future. Many thanks to you.

Dear Barb and Ward - You have welcomed us in your home and treated us like family. Your home and land and animals are all so beautiful. Every single meal was outstanding (the best burgers ever, the best tuna ever)! : ) You treated our children with such loving care that they will miss you as much, if not more, then the wonderful experiences you have provided. I (Jen) will never forget your sweet red haired goat whom I now call "Rahab". You have put a longing for the country in this city-girl's heart!

My favorite part was the horseback riding on the nature trails ... who would have thought?! Jay's 3 favorite things were the meals, the horse ride, and the mountain biking. The kids really loved the bonfire, the baby animals, and YOU.

I had a super time at the farm! The meals were ecstatic, and I loved the doe barn. It was fun to bottle feed the 4 babies and have them crawl all over you and chew your hair and butt for your attention. It was also fun to pet the horses and the donkeys. The poultry barn was interesting too. I loved holding that little fuzzy duckling! Cricket is very sweet! She slept with Kelly and me last night. Corky and Cana are also great. We had a super time. Thank you also for adding in the pony rides! We all learned lots about animals! - Erin -

We are all looking forward to our visit at Easter.

Nichola, Jonathan and Anna, Amy, Raleigh, NC --- Farmer---- March 2006

Just wanted to say hello and let you know the impact your farm had on our lives. The kids talk daily about cornerstone farm and many times they are playing cornerstone farm. Kyra has devised a milking station in the front yard that is hilarious. They each still pretend to take care of the goats.

Actually, God’s faithfulness this whole past year has been nothing short of miraculous and your farm was just one piece of the puzzle for us. I hope you don’t ever doubt the use of your place for God’s glory because it truly was a safe haven for us where our family could get away and have a bonding experience. It was such a blessing.

We think of you often and hope it has been a profitable season for the farm as well as enjoyable.

Love,

Thank you for such a wonderful retreat ~ I am leaving feeling pampered and we can't wait to return in March : )

We loved every minute of our stay. You made us feel like family from the very second we arrived. Vinay loved you guys so much that he is coming back with his allergies. You've taught us so much about farming. Thank you for everything. See you in May.

Donna and Vinay, Cranford, NJ---- Traveler Plus ---- January 2006

What a great way to ring in the New Year!We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The girls especially loved petting the miniature horses. We felt very much at home. David and I both agree that this was definitely a well needed relaxing weekend and we were thankful to have found CornerStone Farm for our stay.

David, Tammy, Brooke & Denise, Luray, VA---- Traveler --- New Year's Eve 2005

What a great time - thanks so much for the anniversary basket, but most of all your warm hospitality and good food, extended above and beyond in Jesus' name. May God bless you in your stewardship of His gifts and enlarge your ministry - you are already doing wonders in His name - giving people a glimpse of what it was like before the fall and what it will be like again when we are fully reconciled and in His full, healed world. Blessings! keep on!

Hank and Peggy ----- Traveler Plus ---- December 2005

Awesome! Hospitality, warmth, food & more food, delicious. Love to be back with nature. Rest, relaxing, smells (of all types) were very welcomed. The best vacation we had for some time. God does send us to meet some great people along our journey in life. You two & Ted were the best. In the deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks, we had a wonderful time. God's peace & blessing abound

Dave & Pat, Baltimore, MD ----- Traveler Plus ---- November 2005

This has been a wonderful experience for city dwellers like us. We particularly enjoyed the little tour around the farm and meeting all the animals. Euan was especially thrilled to see the animals up close and to be able to pat them. Thank you Ward and Barb for your warm hospitality, great food and a great stay. God bless both of you.

Jean and Family, Singapore ----- Traveler Plus ---- October 2005

Thank you so much for making my stay so wonderful. I felt more like family than a guest. I'm so sorry my husband was called away and couldn't make it. Just means we'll have to schedule another trip! Hooray! Barb, thanks so much for letting me spend time with the goats. Please ignore the hoof sticking out of my suitcase! Ward, thanks for the lovely time fishing. Next time I'll leave you at the house and maybe I'll catch something!! Thanks again to you both.

Our 1st day on the farm was excellent. We all enjoyed the tour and the wonderful dinner. The 2nd day very educational and great fun doing chores, playing with all the animals, horseback riding and pony rides and the bonfire were excellent. Barb and Ward thanks for being excellent hosts. Our visit to the farm has been a very relaxing experience. My husband brought me here as a surprise anniversary getaway. We enjoyed exploring the farm and visiting the animals. It was so great to find a farm getaway only about an hour from home. Wonderful food, thanks for everything. We hope to return in the Fall.

Dan & Yasha, Littleton, NC ----- Traveler Plus ---- July 2005

I'm glad we found you on the Internet. This is a great farm and has allowed us a great family vacation. We enjoyed all the farm chores. Cid will never forget "the big one" he caught in the pond. [A 2 FOOT BASS BY A 5 YEAR OLD]. The farm is a beautiful place and we wish you all the best with your Bed & Breakfast.

Peter & Irene, Deena, Claudia, Cid, Augusta, GA
----- Farmer ---- July 2005

We wanted the girls to have a memorable time and they did. You have a beautiful place and just the right size to have us feel like we came to visit family. Having the distinction of being the largest family you've had so far was fun for us and work for you. Your attention to the kids was greatly appreciated. We all had a great time, sorry to leave.

David & Alex, Destiny, Alana, Blessing, Coty, Forest, VA

What a great family vacation! We loved all the chores, activities, meals, etc. We felt like part of the Halligan family! We can't say enough good things. Thank you!

Scott & Eileen, Jack, Jon, Manassas, VA ----- Farmer ---- June 2005

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our "farm stay". We have all learned a lot about "country living" that was a new experience for us "city folk". This is probably the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. Ward and Barb, thank you so much for welcoming us to your wonderful home and treating us like family. We all hope to return again in the future. PS We love riding the horse.

Manny, Cathy, Natalie, Patrick, and Annabel, West Palm Beach, Fla
----- Farmer ---- June 2005

We had a great time. This was our first B&B experience and it set a high standard. Ward and Barb make your stay feel like you were visiting family instead of an unsocial hotel stay. The house pets were "lap pets"and all the "kid" goats, 29 of them, wanted all your attention. The horses really made my wife happy. For those who fish, we caught the little ones, but saw several 2 - 3 foot bass. We left them for you to try to catch.

Kristan & Jenny, Powhatan, VA ----- Farmer ---- June 2005

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! You have a lot to offer here at CornerStone! The animals, the scenery, and the experience are top notch. Thanks for the great hospitality and a farm - hands on - experience we will never forget. Best of luck to both of you. And God bless you as you live your dream. We are more motivated then ever to make that move! Take care.

Dan, Lisa, Maggie, Micah & ?, Hollywood, MD--- Farmer ---- May 2005

Good Morning Ward and Barb. We want to thank you for a wonderful stay at CornerStone Farm. Our tour at Cardinal was very interesting and informative. I think that David & Linda are now ready to make a decision on a builder for their new home. After a stop for lunch and a shopping stop at Costco in Greensboro we had an easy drive home. We recommended your B&B to the people at Cardinal in the event they have inquiries about a place to stay. You might want to drop off a few brochures at their office. May God be with you as you pursue this career change.

Don & Hazel, North Carolina ----- Traveler Plus ---- May 2005

It was a great trip. We were treated like family from the moment our feet hit the ground there at CornerStone Farm. You truly have a piece of heaven carved out there. Philip and I both enjoyed different things about the farm. I was crazy about the animals, and wish I could have stayed longer. Those goats are great little creatures!!! Mr. Kitty (ground hog) is as cute as cute can get. I researched a little to save you some time. Try this web site www.hoghaven.com/gfaq.htm It has lots of info. Hope Kitty makes CornerStone his home for life too. We will be keeping in touch and hope to be back soon. Take care. We loved it there

Kay and Philip, Richmond, VA ----- Traveler Plus ---- May 2005

For our trip from middle TN to Delaware, we needed a stopover point with horse-boarding facilities. CornerStone provided a convenient layover in quiet surroundings. Barb and Ward moved their horses around to accommodate our colt. We appreciate their hospitality and willingness to board a young stallion. Their human accommodations and meals were equally impressive.

Andra and Don, Manchester, TN ----- Horse and Rider ---- April 2005

Thank you so much barb! We had a wonderful time! You taught us a lot about the goats and we look forward to learning more from you. We had a blast doing the chores - I just hope the girls still enjoy it when we get our goats. We look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks. We also look forward to meeting Ward. We treasure our new friendship. Thank You!

Cali, Aspen and Misti, Goochland, VA ----- Farmer ---- April 2005

A lovely stay - the grandchildren loved the farm animals. The rooms are marvelously comfortable and so restfully decorated. We'll spread the word! The best for me (Mary) was to meet and fellowship with a new sister in Christ - an unexpected "God"incidence!

Jim and Mary, Middleton, MA ----- Traveler ---- April 2005

We had an awesome time! The children do not want to leave. Horseback riding, hiking, and the meals were excellent. The most favorite task was milking the does (in addition to cuddling the kids). Hope PJ kids soon! Oh yeah, mom and dad had a relaxing time.

Andrew and Christine, Midlothian, VA ----- Farmer ---- April 2005

Only God could have arranged our stay here. After a couple of hours of going in circles, we found you in a booklet given to us by another motel. We were entirely blessed. Celebrating our 7th anniversary (seven is symbolically "completion" in the bible) in such privacy and hospitality and with a delicious breakfast could only have been improved on if we had more time!

God bless you all and your efforts! Hope to see you soon! Thank you for taking us in on such short notice. It was a blessing.

Kris and Lisa, Chesapeake, VA ----- Traveler ---- April 2005

We had a wonderful time. It's nice to find a bed and breakfast that not only allows children, but welcomes them. Our son had so much fun here. Thank you so much for the hospitality. We wish you lots of success and happiness.

Mae and Jamal, Raleigh, NC ----- Farmhand ---- March 2005

We just want to thank you for such a wonderful time we had here. Our 9th anniversary will most certainly be remembered. We thank you for your hospitality and generosity as you served us this weekend. May God bless you as you have blessed us.

Todd and Dani, Rhoadesville, VA ----- Farmer ---- March 2005

CJ and I had a great time. Wish we were able to stay longer and enjoy more activity and the farm, but the hospitality was exceptional. Best wishes in the future.

Erika and CJ, Richmond/Lexington,VA ----- Farmhand ---- February 2005

You both are certainly blessed with a gift which make strangers feel like family. Meal times were relaxing and fun, and the food was wonderful. This was the first B&B experience and I will have memories for years to share. I appreciate your blessing the food and pray that God will bless your home and work, and know that many guests will be blessed as I was. Thanks again for everything!

Karen, Jonesville, VA ----- Corporate (call for details)---- February 2005

A truly wonderful experience. Hospitality and food were tops! I wish I had been able to be 'Out on the Farm' to see all the animals, but the week has been memorable all the same.

Laurie, Pennington, VA ----- Corporate (call for details)---- February 2005

This is by far our finest B&B experience. The generosity and wisdom of our wonderful innkeepers, the truly idyllic setting, and the fascinating array of well loved animals all work together to make this a place we want to visit again and again. It is truly a haven for the traveler.

Esther Lee and Douglas, Holmdel, NJ ----- Traveler Plus ---- January 2005

My wife and I wanted to get away for our 3rd anniversary; my wife found CornerStone Farm on-line and we came to agreement this is where we were going. The night we arrived, it was the best hospitality you could get. From dinner and all the rest of the meals, they were excellent, and you never leave hungry. The activities from feeding the goats animal crackers or milking the goats, my wife thought was the best ever, to going horse back riding through trails and scenes that words couldn't describe. CornerStone Farm, if you enjoy nature, animals, and food; there's no place anywhere else in Virginia.

Richard and Marie, Richmond, VA --- Farmer - Anniversary---- January 2005

My wife and I wanted a few days retreat in the country side and CornerStone Farm was the answer. Enjoyed Ward and Barbara's hospitality and were treated as members of the family. Room was very well furnished and decorated, and the stay was very comfortable. Our food was carefully prepared to our liking. Best place to relax and lay back. Add to it the Halligan's hospitality, and you won't find a better B&B anywhere.

Sam and Carol, Falls Church, VA ----- Holiday Special ---- December 2004

Staying with you guys is a lot of fun, a great and memorable experience to bring back home. This is a very educational two-day getaway for us. I have learned so many things about animals especially the goat milking. I am very proud to tell my friends that I have milked a goat. The horse ride was a lot of fun, watching the poultry, the cows, the birds is very entertaining and additionally, life on the farm is never boring. We really had a good time! Good luck to you both!

Elizabeth and Dave, Fredericksburg, VA ----- Farmer ---- 2004

This is the first B&B experience for us. We had not only received a warm hearted welcome, but also received many knowledge's that we could not get from books or schools. We learned how to milk goats; Ko-Jen even created his own way of milking for a beginner. We saw a couple of White crowned sparrows (of course Ward identified them!) We also learned how to identify a Turkey vulture and a Black vulture. Well, it will take several pages to write down the wonderful time that we had here. Best wishes to Ward and Barb.

Thanks so much for your sweet note! Thanks also - we had a wonderful time, and I posted a little "ad" for you on both the e-mail home school newsletters I get - hope you get some calls! Although the farm and the animals were lovely, we were most touched by your Christlike attitudes in serving us as your guests. What a wonderful "mission" you have in your farm and we will pray continually that God blesses it! Love in Christ, Laura
PS We already miss the goats - especially Kittem. Save a good doe for me to buy year after next, Lord willing!

Laura and Scott, Langley AFB, VA ----- Farmhand ---- May 2004

Thank you again for everything. We had such a great time. I wish you the best of luck with your new B&B.

Myla and Ken, Richmond, VA ----- Farmer ---- May 2004

I can't remember the last time I slept so well and the sunrises in the morning over the pond were spectacular.

The food and the rest were so good. The whole farm was so beautiful. Wonderful host and hostess.

Beth, Holmdel, NJ ----- Farmer ---- April 2004

What a wonderful time I had here with you and all of yours and at the fair.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I hope that you will find your way to my neck of the woods so that I have the opportunity to share my humble farmlet with you.

Elizabeth, Roanoke, VA ----- Traveler ---- April 2004

I just want to say thank you so much for letting us use your wonderful farm for the film. It looks beautiful! I think there are some folks on the set that may never get over the sight of seeing those little goat kids (myself included).
The day we spent on your farm was so fantastic - I wish the whole shoot was that much fun. It was a perfect note to end the shoot on, and it is thanks to your help and hospitality that it turned out so well.
Best of luck to you and the animals, and as soon as the film is finished, I'll let you know.

Marianne, NYC School of Cinema, Student Director

Dear Christian Friends, Thank you so much for your hospitality over and above - God is so good to us to provide you when we were tired. After an outstanding breakfast we were on our way to Columbus, OH. We met our schedule there on time.
